This species is apparently endemic to Venezuela, where it is relatively common. Larvae have been reared on Passiflora biflora.Characteristics
Note that the background color of the forewings is olive brownish, in contrast to the black background coloration of the hindwings. This feature is shared in common with the allopatric Brazilian species J. mononeura and J. similis.References
